General Descrption

Responsible for planning, developing and implementing the Club's marketing strategies, communications, and public relations activities, both external and internal, to lead membership recruitment and retention. Oversee development and implementation of marketing materials and direct the efforts of the marketing, communications and branding efforts. The position spearheads year-round membership recruitment and retention while enhancing value and brand equity. The position reports to the Chief Operating Officer/GM and serves as a member of the senior management team. This position works directly with the Chief Operating Officer/GM and Membership Committee in developing the Club's strategic marketing plan to achieve demanding goals and objectives. Outside the Club, the position coordinates with community partners and the media. The Director must be a relationship builder and be successful in winning the trust and confidence of members and guests along with prospective members and community leaders. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to develop marketing plans and close membership sales. The candidate must have experience in a competitive marketing position, with escalating responsibilities and consistent achievement of goals.

Qualifications
  • Knowledge of marketing and business theory and its application to the development of successful membership recruitment and retention campaigns
  • A track record of membership growth and sales
  • An understanding of the importance of appropriate selling techniques in terms of membership drives, programs and soft selling/prospecting
  • Demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience in the design and execution of marketing, communications and public relations activities and plans
  • Strong creative, strategic, analytical, organizational and personal sales skills
  • Must be highly adaptable to environmental factors, competitive landscape and innovative in achieving goals while enhancing brand equity
  • Experience developing and managing budgets, and hiring, training, developing, supervising and appraising personnel
  • Demonstrated successful experience writing press releases, making presentations and negotiating with partners
  • Experience overseeing the design and production of print materials and publications
  • Commitment to working with shared leadership and in cross-functional teams •
Must have a professional manner, a gracious attitude, the ability to interface with diverse groups and exceptional diplomacy
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other department heads, team members, current and prospective members, business partners, volunteers, and committees
  • Manage the Club's website and social media content
  • Technology savvy--computer skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Adobe, CRM management, Jonas, web-based tools, and experience with SaaS Website platforms
