Spa Assistant Manager

The Spa Assistant Manager will hold many responsibilities. Building effective relationships with guests and team is an essential element of this role. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with the daily operations of the resort's full service spa and fitness center. Maintain a Spa presence and leadership skills to ensure the highest quality service to Spa guests. Reports to the Health and Wellness Director.
What you will do (includes but not limited to):
Assist with hiring and training Associates; ensure all Associates are in compliance with policies/procedures. Provide motivation and inspiration to achieve results, recognize strengths, develop weaknesses. Use redirection as teachable moments and active learning opportunities. Arrange ongoing Associate training/development with vendors. Encourage and motivate spa treatment providers to up sell and cross sell services and products. Learn and maintain knowledge of Booker, Micros, and Opera. Accurately book and confirm spa treatment reservations. Monitor providers' schedules and make necessary changes and cancellations. Oversee and inspect areas for cleanliness and proper operation; institute systems that will improve guest satisfaction. Assist with controlling labor and inventory costs. Ensure accurate inventory control including the security of stock. Assist Spa Director with the creation of spa menus and promotions/activities to stimulate interest and sales in both the Spa and the Fitness Center. Assist with the development and maintenance of Spa literature, documentation, and process handling requirements. Ensure superior guest satisfaction; when necessary provide complaint resolution. Ensure all Spa and Fitness Center equipment is in working order, ensure ongoing maintenance and that repairs are made in a timely manner. Guide Staff as how to recognize, anticipate, and identify guests needs to avoid potential challenges. Provide open communication at all times. Exhibit a professional attitude, diplomacy, and ability to address difficult situations. Hold self to a higher standard, be a role model at all times.
Qualities and characteristics of the Spa Assistant Manager include being outgoing, articulate, diplomatic, accurate, and composed.
Minimum requirements include having a strong command of written and oral English; above average math competencies and software skills; advanced understanding of guest relations.
Skills and abilities include having the ability to provide clear direction, communication, and mature judgment; maintain composure in a hectic environment.
Minimum education required is a high school diploma/GED; some college preferred
Minimum experience required is 2 years supervisory experience.
Physical elements: Stand for extended periods; walk up/down stairs numerous times daily; reach high and low areas; lift/move/transport 20+ pounds; various fumes, odors, and chemicals.
